Spalted Birch
This live edge bowl is made from yellow birch. This particular tree just so happened to grow behind our shop. During a storm a neighboring tree fell and took this birch with it. In the interest of being sustainable, we decided to keep as much of this tree as possible. We took an unfortunate situation and made art. Luckily it also became spalted over the course of the one year we let it sit.
